CTA Blue Line
The trains in Chicago are known as the "L," and the Blue Line trains are the easiest and most affordable way to get to O'Hare via public transit.
The Blue Line offers 24 hour service with more frequent service during weekday morning and evening rush hours. You can also connect to most other CTA lines through the Blue Line.

O'Hare airport - Downtown in 35 minutes
A single regular ticket starts from $5.00. You can purchase fare with cash or credit. There are vending machines located outside the station.

Drop-off/pick-up location
Lower level of the parking garage.
You can walk through the pedestrian tunnel from each domestic terminal to reach the station. Just follow the "Trains to City" on the overhead wayfinding signs. From Terminal 5, please take the free shuttle bus from the lower level (door 5E) marked "Terminal 1 follow the "Trains to City" on the overhead way finding signs. The CTA is located near elevator center 4 in the pedestrian tunnel.
Metra
Metra offers commuter train service throughout the Chicagoland area. Metra's North Central Service train line connects, on weekdays, downtown Chicago's Union Station to the north central suburbs, terminating at Antioch.
Travelers coming from O'Hare International Airport terminals can use the O'Hare Transfer Station to access Metra's North Central Service trains to downtown or the suburbs.

Drop-off/pick-up location
On the northeast side of O'Hare at Zemke and Mannheim Roads.
From the terminals: Take the airport shuttle bus marked "Metra" from the upper level of each domestic terminal or on the lower level of Terminal 5 (Door 5E) to the Metra Station. Additionally, you can take the shuttle bus at the rental car pick-up location on the lower level of each terminal to the Multi-Modal Facility and walk to the Metra station from there. The Metra station is located across the street from the Multi-Modal Facility, on the northeast corner of the building. View more information here.
Pace
It is the public bus line service of Chicago
Pace Route 250
Weekdays and Saturdays. Service along this route includes:
- Davis Street CTA Station (access to the CTA Purple Line)
- Skokie Swift CTA Station (access to the CTA Yellow Line)
- Notre Dame and Main East High Schools
- Lutheran General Hospital

PACE drop-off/pick-up location
PACE stops are located at the Multi-Modal Facility, Bus Bay #9. From the Multi-Modal Facility, PACE passengers can take the free, 24 hour airport shuttle buses directly each of the terminals. Upon return, passengers should board a airport shuttle buses from the Lower Level (Baggage Claim) curb front. The digital display on the bus will read "Rental Cars/Parking Lot F" back to the Multi-Modal Facility.
